Ladies at Aintree

Aintree racecourse is located on the A59, just one mile from the M57 and M58, which link the M62 and M6.

By road

If you're travelling from the south leave the M6 at J21A and join M62 west. Leave the M62 at J6 to join the M57 and follow the signs for the races.

If you're travelling from the north leave the M6 at J26 and join the M58, following the signs for the races.

From the Mersey Tunnels follow the signs for Preston, then for the A59, before following the signs for the races.

 

By train

The nearest mainline station to Aintree is Liverpool Lime Street. Liverpool Central Station is just a short walk from Lime Street and from here you can catch a train to Aintree.

Trains depart from Liverpool Central every seven and a half minutes during the Grand National meeting and every 15 minutes on other racedays.

The journey takes 15 minutes and Aintree station is directly opposite theracecourse.

By national bus

National Express Coaches has announced the launch of a new route to Aintree that willtake racegoers direct to the course for the first time.

To mark the launch of their new route to Aintree, National Express is offering racegoers a 20 per cent discount off Grand National admission tickets. In addition, any racegoers booking travel and admission on nationalexpress.com will receive a free racecard.

By local bus

Aintree can be reached by bus on the following services: 300, 311, 345, 350 and 351 both to and from Liverpool. From Bootle New Strand take route 61A.

By air

Liverpool John Lennon is the nearest airport and is a 20-minute drive.

Alternatively, take a bus to Liverpool South Parkway Merseyrail station where you can catch a train to Aintree [change at Liverpool Central or Moorfields ontothe Ormskirk train]. The journey takes approximately one hour.
